so if hull beat palace this weekend they go into the last game with just 1 point difference, although palace have a very favourable goal difference which could be very important. However, both teams have a tough last game with hull playing spurs and palace playing united. Thought palace were easily safe a few weeks ago, shows just how important those unexpected wings at stamford bridge and anfield as well as the home dismantling of arsenal were, it's kept them up you'd think.

If they didn't have to play hull you'd have said they've done enough to stay up, no way should they be down there given their squad though, lot of injuries i suppose. Still just about between those two and swansea for the last spot.

Fifth year running in the top flight, is this now Palace's longest stay there?
Yes. Previously managed four consecutive seasons (twice) 69/70 - 72/73 and 89/90 - 92/93. Next season will be the 17th altogether in the top flight.
More significant for a club that didn't leave the bottom 2 Divisions for the first 48 years of it's Football League existence we haven't left the top 2 Divisions for 40 years now.
Bet you're sorry you asked now!

I'm glad palace are sticking around for another season, aim for top half next season.
