Wow, never thought Id see this on here. Ive hiked this trail a few times. I moved form Liverpool to Alaska in 2005. The foot of Chilkoot pass starts at the head of the Dyea River, about 5 minutes drive from the town of Skagway (a small gold rush town and entrance to the Yukon).
I met my wife in Skagway. We now live in Ketchikan, another town in Alaska.
1st July 1916. France. Battle of the Somme. Tommies on the frontline.
20,000 British troops died that day.
