I just don’t find him funny at all …. In saying that, I also don’t find Billy Connolly, Lenny Henry or John Cleese remotely funny either so he’s in good company

BC, hell no. He's got some graft.
Sayle was irreverent, comedy for comedians, the difficult second album stuff. We couldn't find comedy at it's zenith about mother in law jokes and drag get up. Horror reinvents itself far more often...
