Firstly she's a she. From a perceived position of privilege she's lambasting a system she's had a benefit from. She's been allowed a platform. What was she, 13 when she was taking the petro companies on? So her age was an issue for some. She got a bit of traction, and became an easy target, unfortunately even Davey Attenborough can't get the point across about poisoning the environment, so some mealy mouthed kid chunnering away was always likely to rub a vocal/powerful few up the wrong way. I'm noticing more that the general attitude to environment is 'f it, I already pay enough', that's how it's been framed and that attitude has ironically taken root.
'Spaceballs' was supposed to be a comedy, not a prediction.
