I don't see a reason why we shouldn't be optimistic.
In truth we were truly spoilt in the first half of the season, and after all the media predicted us to do so poorly. We're still that blooding squad, and we're inexperienced too. In the last 4 weeks we've played Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool all away from home, sadly for us, they've all been in great form, whereas we're only getting Deulofeu, Barkley and co back from injury, in doing so, we lost our only goalscoring threat in Lukaku.
The only thing that's worrying is that we openly let Victor and Jelavic go, with no permanent strikers in january, come June, our only recognised striker will be Steven Naismith, which considering until 6 weeks ago, he wasn't even considered a striker at all, is very concerning.
But no one expected us to finish top half, yet alone top 4 this season, so we've got to enjoy the ride, we're strong at home, and our hard away games of Arsenal, City, Spurs, Liverpool, United and Chelsea have all gone, and we've got 5 winnable ones left in Newcastle, Hull, Fulham, Sunderland and Southampton.
As much as i don't want to sound like a pessimistic banging on the drum bore, who lurks around on this board, we've got a bright young manager, who knows how to play football, but needs the support from the board, we should have money to spend, so let him work his magic.
