I'm honestly being serious. I think O'Neil is associated with a better brand of football than Allardyce or Pullis and, perhaps more importantly, doesn't carry the Crisis/Emergency alarm signals that either of the other two do. I also think he's decent in front of the media which is going to be important over the coming weeks. O'Neil did well at Villa when they were run sensibly and he has done an okay job with a very poor Irish squad.

Don't you mean when they spent money? By this logic anyway we might as well have appointed Moyes as he usually finished above O'Neil's Villa despite spending a fraction of the amount they did.

I've fully accepted the severity of our situation and have prepared myself for almost any manager to take over: except for Martin O'Neill and Harry Redknapp.

O'Neill is known for having a terrible "brand of football" and absolutely destroyed Villa.

He was good in like the late 90's. It's 2017.
