The only gold we haven't won on the track so far was the girls team spring, and I reckon we would have done in that too but for the DQ for Pendleton and Varnish. I didn't think we could repeat Beijing but we certainly are. Amazing stuff.

Repeat?
REPEAT???
Erm, hows about team GB "London" the Beijing effort.

Comes to something when the governing body mess around with things to try and trip you up. Remember in Beijing we had a few in each event. We'd have even more medals if we could field a couple of riders in each event.

Very much a golden era for British cycling here. World Champion, Olympic TT winner and TDF winner on the road, and destroying all comers on the track. Lost for words really. If Froome wins the Vuelta later this month it'll be seriously taking the piss.

4 Times consecutive winner on the Champs. More than deserves a mention.

The nice thing is that ITV4 have been doing a great job of showing it too, so you don't need expensive TV to watch it. Fairly sure they're showing the Vuelta again this year.

Little bit surprised that Sky haven't made more of a play for coverage of it as they own the best team in the world and all, but Eurosport and ITV4 do a grand job of covering the races.

For me the Vuelta is about a million percent less a spectacle because the place just isnt as beautiful as France and has less than a tenth the history the tour has. It is the stories on the tour about record breaking breakaways, when the tour was there last, infamous moments, stage and tour winners previous that make the tour such the special event it is.

"Some people are on the champs in yellow, they think its the raffle, it is now!"

There's never been dominance (or I cant remember it) in the velodrome like this.

World records going almost every time these riders take the track. Total dominance of the gold medals. I'm sorry, but these times and performances defy belief.

Defo something dodgy going on here. There's no precedent for this.

The women arent beating the mens times.
The times set by both genders tie in with previous efforts set at other events.
GB have had the most stern anti drugs agenda in the world, to the extent GB athletes have fought internationally to have certain attitudes and stances overturned.
Cheats are cheats, I hate them, but lets not crucify everyone just because they are an athlete like Marion Jones pretended to be.

I tell you what: if this had been in China and their cycle team were this dominant there'd be eyebrows raised and dark mutterings.

I dont buy this one little bit.

Just as a bit of an aside, and nothing personal intended, some accounts on here have called me for supposed 'trolling'. I can fathom your point, but to me it seems a touch churlish to condemn the so-far-so-clean before they have even got their medals.

its been 4 years since beijing though, an not even the slightest hint of a case against the entire GB squad has come out, off the top of my head isnt David Miller the last British Cyclist to be caught doping, some time ago that

Off the top of my head, I think a couple of B cat possibilities have been busted, but were so trying to qualify for big team selection. I cant reference those though.

Bollocks. This track was built for speed, it was well known that a lot of records were likely to fall.

Stop being a popcorning tit.

When Pendleton and her partner were DQ'd the other night they broke a world record, shortly before having the world record broken again. That has been a similar story in other events with other teams also breaking the previous record, but GB simply doing even better.

Good god it is warm in Rio de Janerio. They'll catch the higgs boson if they arent careful.

Looked like he had absolutely nothing to give down the last 100

I thought the guys on the outside lanes knocking hurdles over one after the other took him mentally back. That second corner he seemed to be running in treacle. The rest of the pack ate him like pancakes. Gutted and rightly so.
