I know it's a cliche and probably a bit soppy but watching those girls win then watch them crying as the union flag is raised and the national anthem plays then the interview with the parents I actually found all that quite emotional. Especially The contrast with the men's pair getting helped out of the boat by Redgrave completely physically destroyed then crying their eyes out , all very moving for me

That blonde got me going a bit, she was totally overcome. So much easier supporting these humbling, hard-working athletes than those belters in the England team

yeah that is soppy mate, we're men, you know tits, ass, porn, fart jokes, breaking bones, kicking eachother in the balls, comparing penis sizes, yeah that kind of species

its almost surreal watching 4 years of huge effort all pour out of them in varying forms

Totally agree mate. My mrs is in tears of joy and happiness here.

Those two lads who just got the Silver, should be bloody proud. I hope the nation makes them realise they are an inspiration too.

Those two men then were destroyed, could hardly walk and were in tears, absolutely gutted for them.

The contrast coming straight after the 'joy' of the women rowers was incredible .

Watching those lads can you imagine how you'd feel if England football internationals gave it all , came off like that and apologised even though they shouldn't ? Then you would respect them , just immense effort and humility as well
