There's every type of woman on show. Something for everyone.

Although they all share one thing in common: they'd batter me.

Which is sexy.

This Irish lid is doing well anyway. No point saying what sport because the Irish only seem to compete in one.

I think we should have the female athletes on TV all year around. It's the best, my fav is Missy Franklin

Oh, should have worded that differently, nothing bad for Ennis like. Just S korea got a gold and have gone back above us in the standings as soon as we got into third. FFS.

we have 6 more medals than them ffs, i reckon they should do a point system for the worth of each medal, it is a silly way to work things, not that we get anything for finishing 3rd instead of 4th anyway

Isn't it something stupid like less than 6 50m pools?? No surprise really we're gash at swimming

More than that mate. Plymouth just got a new one, somewhere near me has got one of the training pools when the olympics are done. It's an expensive sport though. My younger sister swims quite a lot, and I know it costs my parents a fair bit to just let her train, never mind competition costs on top of that. Make it cheaper, make it more accessible, and more will swim. And above all, make it easy to be able to progress beyond the age of 10 or 11. Lots of younger swimmers are only good because, as RFUS says, they're so tall and big. Lot's peak older, and unless they can fund themselves through, it's very difficult. My mate I mentioned, is a fantastic swimmer, but is a total waster. He lives at home with his parents, with no job, so focuses on his swimming. He's amazing, but ultimately he wont make it, then what then for him? Let people like him get the intensity of training they need, then watch the GB swimming improve.

Knew someone who was a mental swimmer as a kid. So good it was scary. He stopped growing though, must be 5'7. Top class swimmers are almost all giants.

Exactly. I was similar when younger, a 6'1 13 year old, I tore it up. Now I'm a bit older, i'm not as good comparatively (at least not without training more than once every 3 or so weeks anyway) People peak at different times. Give more of a chance to those who peak when older, because they'll be the ones who can be good enough to compete for GB.
