Del Potro held from love 40 again, 15-14 in third set
Im not Nails, but my reading of the Aussie medal haul is primarily due to the classic Aussie banker events has been eroded, specifically in the pool. The USA has always been strong in the pool but the continued push by the Chinese has been nothing short of revolutionary. It is cyclical anyway, GB athletics has been in lulls before and we are living through an iconic purple patch - will there be replacements for talismans like Hoy and Wiggins and Ennis?
Maybe Aus needs to open more public funded schools and drag athletes out of those Tory havens.
Well in the mens sprint you had the lead of guy who was only 19 in his first olympics, in the road cycling you have Froome, and in the Hep there's the scouse lass, plus Ennis is only 27 isn't she? Plus look at the Gymnastics, where we seem to be coming on really strong and our youth teams sound like they're full of talent, so there may be more medals there in the future...
I think we've certainly got some young taient & the build up to the olympics plus the predictable post-games bounce should see us right in the future
making the most of this will be huge for quite a few sports
