I know a lad who is an alcoholic and had one of those heaters but without the guard. He was crouched in front of it one very cold winter night, after a heavy session, and nodded off plunging face-first onto the bars. His face was in a bit of a mess, poor guy.
I'm merely a curious passer through in this thread, curious to see what our seniors get up to.
