Unfortunately it’s also deadly for dogs,see quite a few posts on some dog breed facebook groups about dogs who accidentally get access to rodent poison.
Council will not care either, same as they don’t with their weed killer spray.
Probably even more so with cats. Had a word with a neighbour last year when I heard he was going to put poison down. Thankfully he reconsidered.
….remember the old wooden ones in our house in Everton when I was a kid. As long as @Littlesue doesn’t mind getting rid of dead mice.
They are rat traps you don't touch the dead rodent - easy to set up six at a time ....
….my son has rat trap boxes in his back garden, he contacted me from holiday some time ago with a vid of a squirrel with its head caught in one going ballistic. I had to go around and free it. It proper scarpered off, have to say I’m uncomfortable doing such things but needs must.
I’d think Sue is more likely to have mice if they’re getting in her flat.
I put 3 of these around the house (wooden ones) about 3 years back but never caught anything, I'm hoping these noise sensor plugs I've put around the flat do the job,
The droppings I had in my bathroom were rice shaped so maybe a baby rat, the droppings In my kitchen cupboards were smaller rounder droppings so probably mice, I live on the edge of a canal and nature reserve so I suppose I got to expect them more than most

Squirrel tree rat - grey that is - rats fetch diseases so a karate chop on the head from that photoedbeast is easy to deal with set them just before dark 99 percent dead rat just lift the lever up & Rat falls into your bin wear a pair of gloves get the parents & that's the end of them they are bigger than a mouse trap !
