No wood-bark, but hard concrete if you fell off.

I had a cousin lived near Goodison. We used to go to Stanley Park. They'd built a new playground in the early 60s with a metal maypole chain type contraption. On the opening day kids flying off in all directions. A real bloodbath. A paddling pool where the local bullies honed their waterboarding techniques. Those were the days.
