Found this if it helps -

Can anyone above Pension age tell me if the DWP write and tell you what state pension you will receive. I got a year till retirement and have tried to get a pension forcast but to sign into Government Gateway you need a driving licence or passport and I have neither.
Just go on line, www.gov.uk on the section about State Pension forecasts. Fill in your details and it comes up with the current figure.

Is it photo identification or proof of age they need if you haven’t got a passport etc? Will they accept this? You can apply online. I think people have to use it now when voting with no photo identification

Decided to take a look at the state pension online - I wouldn't get much but who knows. Need to access the site via govt id. start that, then on one screen it says enter your postcode, hello, I now live in the US... no postcode.
Thats it online inquiry ends....

I remember when penny chews were 1/2 p

Thing is, I always felt I was getting way more for my money with the 'new money' because of the size of the coins (the new 1/2p was the equivalent of the old penny) as the chews stayed the same size.

When decimalisation came in a Mars bar was four and a half pence (compared to about eighty pence today?) and it was twice the size as it is now. The first time I 'had new money' was at a school trip to the Odeon on London Road. My Mum gave me 10p to buy some sweets and I bought a Mars bar, I can still remember the woman serving me counting the change into my hand "and a half makes five and five makes ten" and looking at size of the coins and how many there were thinking she'd robbed me!

No they won't use that according to the Jobcentre

I enjoyed the punk period, as I was in my early twenties.

Lucky to see most of the big bands at Erics.

Sad to say, I don't think the bulk of the music has aged well.
I was a bit too young. I had a paper round back then and the tabloids were full of outrage at the stuff the Pistols and others were supposed to have done.

I suppose a lot of the music hasn't aged well but that is kind of how it is. The trendier it was at the time, the worse it seems later ...

I've just looked online and below is what I was given. If it won't let you do it online give them a call on Tuesday, they must be able to sort it as you say there must be so many who don't have those two types of id.

You can obtain a State Pension forecast without a passport by using the GOV.UK website to check your forecast online, or by contacting the Future Pension Centre by phone or post.

Here's a breakdown of the options:

1. Online:

  • Visit the Check your State Pension forecast service on GOV.UK.
  • You'll need your National Insurance number and some other personal details to verify your identity.
  • The service will provide a forecast of your potential State Pension amount and when you'll be eligible.

2. By Phone or Post:

  • Phone: Call the Future Pension Centre on 0800 731 0175 (or 0800 731 0176 for textphone).
  • Post: Download the BR19 form from the GOV.UK website and send it to the Future Pension Centre.
  • You can find the address and more information on the GOV.UK website.
