The one to avoid is the kitchen Mandolin - makes me squeemish even watching it on Mrs Hawtrey's cooking shows. PTSD.

I bought one a couple of months ago because I wanted to make some crisps. Lasted half a potato before I cut myself. Back in the drawer it went to join the rest of the useless kitchen tools I've used only once.

I bought her one for christmas,think she used it once.then it went in the corner cupboard gathering dust next to the chip omatic i bought her the year before.pocket money wasted.

Same with my mum except my gifts were a food mixer and a water powered potato peeler.

You could take empty bottles as an entry fee to the Tivoli picture House in Roscommon Street when I was young, mind you The Tivvy, as it was called, was one of those picture houses you wouldn’t even bunk in!

I still use one now , mine is the "deluxe" version though , it has velcro straps to keep it on the taps plus a wall fitment to hang shower head from

Used to sneak a slice of bread and a fork upstairs and toast it on one of these things

Melted a plastic coat hanger on that and threw it under me brothers bed when I heard me ma coming, she claimed I was trying to murder him.

Hated that woman.

I stuck a screw driver into one of the elements and blew it, shorted out with the guard. Never owned up to it and I never tried it again!
