Because I was little my brother and cousin would dress me up in my Dad's old clothes, stick the guy mask on me and find an old pushchair and push me around as "penny for the guy" and then run off with the money to buy 10 Park Drive

Found these images on ebay in a batch someone is selling. I can't remember when I started getting Charles Buchan's Football Monthly but these editions were the season before, and the season of the 1962/63 First Division Championship - about 12-18 months before I became an Evertonian. The Alex Young issue would have been a month before my 10th birthday.

I can still smell mum's lipstick from when she wiped my grubby little face before she took us kids anywhere. There were seven of us eventually, all in a space of twelve years. Mum's 96 and we're now 73-61

….we always seemed to have ‘tidemarks’ on our necks, think that stopped with my generation.
Probably due to the fact that we were far more active and sweated, rather that sat in front of a TV or phone screen and vegetated.
Leave the vegetation to us oldies, kids!
