Yes, it’s simple Provide your personal details, NI number/bank account details and date you want to start claiming it. I get mine next month

Not so easy from Malta. Need to give work history etc to Maltese authorities as I have worked here and the DWP are not allowed to send a private individuals details to siad individual (?) and the HRMC are taking forever to get the info to me. Started the process in June, still waiting, and am due to collect in October. Hoping for a nice Xmas pressie but not sure which year it will be atm

Forgot to mention I firstly got a letter saying I was eligible to get the state pension with an invitation code on it, which you type in online when you apply for pension

Due to being low paid I not paid any NI for over 30 year and was starting to worry at 62 have I paid enough in to get any State pension. Luckily they count the years you claimed Child Benefit so I just have to pay 65 quid before 2027 to get full pension.

…I did & it was easy. Soon after you get a letter detailing how much you’ll get etc (although you can get an idea from the Government Gateway).

I’ve been retired for over 6 years and get my State Pension in under two weeks. Nearly 66 ffs.
