Radio Rentals, British Relay....

….we rented ours from a bloke called Ernie Carr who had a shop on Boaler St, Everton. He’d knock on the door every few weeks for the TV rent money.

D.E.R. ( Domestic Electrical Rentals) on Allerton rd. for us , I always think the advantage of renting was if it went on the blink you could ring up and they’d send a bloke to fix it.

Do you remember the rental TVs that were rental, and you put coins in ......they just parked in when time was up usually in a vital part of a programme?

The guy came to empty it gave you so much cash in coins back - they were always breaking down ..,...
