The Oldies Thread

....I imagine the test will involve PSA analysis of your blood (as opposed to a hand up your bum), Tommy. The PSA test isn’t perfect but it is a good indicator of prostrate problems. Worth having a ‘well man’s’ check up once or twice per year.
Sounds good advice. A few have now said a blood test will be a good indicator.

This prostate cancer issue. I'm not showing any obvious symptoms of issues with my prostate other than taking a bit longer to have a gypsy's, but I have to admit to getting worn down by the calls to go to the GP and ask for a test of sorts.
I don't particularly want to have someone's digit up my hoop, out of embarrassment more than anything else, but then we are being told early diagnosis of cancer gives a great chance of making a full recovery.
I'm kind of subscribing to the theory of "if it aint broke, don't fix it"
If it ain't broke go and have the routine 3 minute test - you don't necessarily have to have any symptoms ...
The story about a garage owner in London who made his staff have the test, they were all clear so they dragged him screaming and kicking to the near by testing caravan - he was positive enlarged - he had the small operation now safe he now promotes the check up ...
I have had it done check up wise totally painless uncomfortable no where near as bad as a tooth being filled far less trouble, but more vital........
