The Oldies Thread

Son-in-law drove me and her indoors to my eldest daughters new house (new to them) in London today. Gave me a chance to keep asking 'are we there yet'. Had to drive through central London, traffic an absolute nightmare. We were getting overtaken by cyclists who disappeared into the distance. Mind you, they do all go through red lights. Son-in-law's Satnav told him we had averaged 12 mph but that included a fairly quick 15 mile shunt down the M4.

The Average speed to cross London in 1900 when it was all horse drawn was 11 mph.
