The Oldies Thread

My pumps were black. And in Bristol, they called them daps. Confused this 8 year old no end.

roydo, hope you are well. 'When I did my National Service the 'issue' pumps were brown. However, we quickly learned that for 'kit layout' we had to brush them with black boot polish and shine them up. So they ended up as shiny black pumps - so we'll call it quits!
 


..I can’t remember that detail, Tommy. There was a few Australian kids programmes around that time. The Magic Boomerang and Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.
Do you remember Bluey an Aussie detective played by the beautifully named Lucky Grills.
I remember Billy Butler lampooning the series mercilessly.

Wash your mouth out Tommy it was great, , possibly some continuity problems and he always chased down the crooks 10 stone lighter than him but it was “Thrills and spills with Lucky Grills as Bluey Hills”.
