The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Is it? Leicester have ended up in exactly the same place as Ipswich and saved themselves 160 million in the process! I’m not sure Ipswich’ squad is any better than Leicester’s either despite that expenditure. I’d argue Leicester have had the better strategy here.
They punished themselves by sacking Cooper who had them above the relegation zone by the time. I do think they have a few very decent prem level players.

I meant the last time Leicester went down and were saddled with high earners in the championship and then when they were promoted circumnavigating the PSR rules on a technicality. Also if Ipswich come back up with a young team the younger players will in theory be more confident from a successful season and also they'll have experience from this Premier League campaign. You may be right and they'll be out of their depth again but a club Ipswich size are better off having a long term plan rather than a short term one

Wolves by the way. They were miles away and now level on points with us. Kudos to their manager who I remember was in the running when we hired Lampard. Not that it matters now lol
As I've said before he's a back 3 manager and Wolves recruited for that system. Plus with the Portuguese clique at Wolves he's an easy fit. He'd not of had any of those advantages if he got the Everton job

Who'd have taught a few months ago that it wasn't going to be us or Wolves holding up the relegation places being decided but West Ham.
