Bid early for Defour, and his agent and Liege will scream about the bid on the table around Europe.

The same was true with Fellaini.

If you want the likes of him, it's a no brainer to wait.

Right now , Boss , midfield is not our priority .

I UNDERSTAND - not defo , but I believe so - that this has been explored , with a view that , SHOULD we BE in the centre midfield market , HE is #1 choice .

You would not be a million miles out , there DT .

More of a fall-back , I understand than an out - and - out target , I think , but , " Beyond initial stages , .. " I got told .
Smells like a , .. If scenario , a , happened 2 days pre-deadline , we can pull a relatively fukn decent Ace from our bespoke sleeve , an' STILL be sorted ..

Dunno , we'll see .

Shout , though , kid .

Makes sense to me.

And while it may not be popular, even the if vidic to madrid then jags to united scenario is probably sound business under the surface. Remember the contingency is big fish in name of progress. And if we're being honest, of the players who might command big dollars (or pounds!), which would be least devastating to lose? In no way a knock on Jags, but don't think it's unreasonable to say possibly him. It's a strength area, Heitinga will not be needed in dmid next year, he's from manchester area so possibly a certain desire there (pure speculation). Plus I think there's an element of respect w/ moyes & SAF, which is not a bad thing imo.

Onwards & upwards, in davey we trust.

Big fish is great and all that, but we have proven to more than capable of winning games with what we have up front and in midfield.

Its the defense which is somewhat problematic at the moment and has been really since Lescott went.

I don't think at this point in time anyone other than Heitinga is worth having in cb at the club if Jags was to leave.

Maybe Moyes sees Rodders there or even Duffy.

But selling Jags to catch a big fish is all well and good as long as we replace Jags.

Maybe Jonny Evans could be part of the deal. Or more than likely John O'Shea.

All conjecture right now though, things will heat up come summer!

As ever , cocka - sound of hammer on nail-head - .

I'd be personally gutted if Jags were to go . Remember , THIS IS ALL CONJECTURE AN' , WORST CASE SCENARIO'S ,, but I hope , like me - AN' DEFO , MATTY - you see the bright-side in us ACTUALLY PLANNING FOR [Poor language removed] LIKE THAT , WHILST ACTUALLY PROGRESSING CONCURRENTLY .

I don't think we will sell jags, we will sell Yobo or Distin. I think we can afford to sell Osman and Hibbert - but I don't think that will ever happen unfrtunately! We have moved on from them in terms of quality. Vaughan will go, perhaps Victor also.

The last 2 are almost certain . The others , ...

Fingers crossed .

Oh yeah i do see the bright side.

Managing a Premier League team is not much difference to running a business.

You have to make decisions.

Its all about improving your squad any way possible.

If you sell a top player to bring in an even better player then thats what you do. Its a risk and your job is at stake if it don't work.

But if it does everyones happy.

Its as you say very speculative. But yes it seems to me like Moyes has one plan and one/several contingency plans.

the one plan is the signings already (taking advantage of contract situations), and the other is possible targets he'll have a crack at (multiple ones all dependent on what-ifs).

Its good management personified like.

Its the sort of management that big business pays for as he's successfully juggled this sort of thing before (track record), whilst maintaining a broad spectrum of progression.

As have said before. Our Moyes. He's a very very very clever man.

But we'll see as its very dependent on what happens elsewhere.

Equally, he's starting to have an impact and the media are taking note of our teams style/ability.

with the >20000 season tickets sold in mid-April this says alot. If they beat the 30000 barrier I tell ye the club would be delighted. 26000 is the usual target.

Elstone's still gotta improve the commercial revenues of the club, the two things go hand in hand.

As you are well aware, its an artform, prose and the written word. Why use 10 words when I can indulge my love of Everton in 10,000?
