I think he could be a 15 goals a year player. Moyes wouldn't be getting him otherwise.

If he really steps up (Jagielka style, from Shef Utd) - maybe 20 or 25 out of all expectation.

If he doesn't quite do it in first season, still think 10 is possible certainly.

And thats inbetween him playing Saha or the Yak and their goals.

I think this is about right, if Beckford gets games. He's just coming into his prime, so I don't think his ceiling is much higher.

There was some talk of Kuranyi last winter...is he still out of contract this summer? I'm not sold on his qualities as a person, but he'd be quite a coup on a free. Good for 15-20 at least, I would think.

Well, I think they're at 25 for all comps at the moment aren't they? (That includes Jo's)

You Aussies an' this , Education , [Poor language removed] , kid .
Damn !!!

( In 5 years we won't count Jo's , on account of being in agony from our toes curling up in our shoes !!! Stand on me .)

I can confirm that it was quite close to happening .

Beleive mate!

*Irons Feed the Yak T-Shirt!

As I said , out of the both of us , Source is the big Yak' fan .
However , I thought he played well last night , and pre-injury Yak' , I would agree with you . I just doubted , on the evidence thus far , post-recovery , whether he had the desire / fitness / heart , for the requisite standard on a consistent basis .
Hope I'm wrong , like .

I hope so to mate, a trually fit and intrested Yak is a joy to behold. Hes one of the top strikers in the league for me i think only Henry or someone has scored more PL goals then him in recent years - anyway some ace stat! More importantly he fits our system perfectly in terms of goal threat and build up play. The thing about it is though when you play one up front you need your midfeilders to be chipping in with about close 30 or so goals - which lets be fair a midfeild of Arteta, Pieman, MoFro and Cahill are well capable of - but for different reason havnt got their this season - young Billy is a bit of a silent assasin i think in front of goal - you cansee what the ginger one was thinking!

A striker needs chances to be created just not from his own endeavours but good work from his team mates, right now that does not seem to be happening. I think when it comes to picking the team Moyes is a bit stuck trying to choose between Yak and Saha. Both were scoring machines before injuries from which Saha has recoverd to a point but is he 90 minutes fit not quite I think and is getting on lets face it. As for Yak it is not clear how well he has recovered and will he return to free scoring ways. I have this horrible feeling he has dropped back into his bad old ways which made his previous clubs only to glad to see him go. I keep thinking how the Boro fans felt when they knew he was leaving for us could not wait to see the back of him.

Vaughan will he return from loan or be on his way, if he had been anything like rattling goals in Moyes I am sure would not have let him go so doubts linger on his long term futrure at GP and will he make the grade?

Leaves us with Vic who has not had many chances of late and is his copy book well and truly blotted so Moyes is only keeping hold of him because he has no choice at present.

Perhaps others of you have more knowledge than me on any up and coming young stirkers which could make good ala Rooney.

So to buy have to sell (Johnson said that to Smith). Who goes, well Yobo or Distin, and who else I am not sure. If Beckford comes that could work out, we have not had a hard nose striker since Dunc!! wouls be nice to pick up another young lad though to pair with him.

Which is why , you are my Leader , Leader .

No worries .

Not being funny or anything mate!

But remember a while ago, source was saying we were seriously looking at bringing in the Zog etc - was it not known then that we we're skinto flinto - or was it just after Europe died last night.

All seems a bit futile identifying and going on scouting trips - to end up with no bread.

Im sure Moyes has the massive hump!

If Moyes would like to get a striker who would be an upgrade over Saha or Yakubu, then forget about getting rid of Yobo or Distin. Think Rodwell or Fellaini. I knwo it's painful, but they are only players we have, who we can get a big money for, and selling one of them wouldn't make our starting XI suffer.
But also, if we would consider getting top striker, than playing 4-5-1 and having Top striker/Saha and Yakubu together makes no sense at all, just like it doesn't make sense having Yobo as 4th CB with his high wages.
