Thats why I'm not having a meltdown like some on here.

It would have to be some fee, for most if not all of the ones people have talked about not being happy with. A fee many clubs can't afford these days.

Don't know, lcab, I thought I said probably. (Five points behind the neighbours with four games left and their run-in, or waiting on a fairly spectacular implosion from Villa, I think that's a fair comment.)

Wasn't a question to you or anyone else, was just thinking aloud about the fishy possibilities of someone big wanting to come to us rather than choosing any other option and taking into account our current prospects (not to mention our wage scale compared to other clubs). So makes me feel better about the prospects of us getting rid of anyone big.

I still think we're in very good shape to resist any sales that we don't wish to make... maybe the weakest one there is Pienaar, but they're still talking to him.

See my other thread about the accounts, and compare Villa's ballooning costs going up 50% their debt going up 20% and their wage:turnover going to 82% !!!


Thats why we're in a stronger position to resist sales, because unlike Villa we haven't ballooned the costs, but also - because our playing squad has SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

You see some of our players, and the manager's track record, and the club itself and many players would want to come here.

Sort of as LCAB say's we're potentially on a cusp of a wave (progression wise..........)

What I mean is lid, that there are few changes we would make but if say a fantasy football style bid came in in the tens of millions we might think about it, depending if Moyes could get his replacements sorted.

I get it.

The cresp of a wave is - because can you see Villa suddenly dramatically improving?

I can see Everton doing so, with the players we've got, because our position now is purely down to CONSISTENCY and INJURIES.

What's Villas excuse? They only play one way (the hurl ball) and have spent £50million more to do it than us (not including wages)


So its still, even SOURCE acknowledges: all what ifs and maybes....

Only thing I do know - Villa are selling this summer (to cut costs). Everton might do, but only to strengthen again with replacements and abit of profit thrown in for good measure.
