Kuechly retires at 28. With Gronk and Luck that makes 3 retirements under 30 by top players in the last year.

It's gonna become a more common thing. Life after football matters. So many former players have died young and/or poor.

He's suffered from a few concussions so it's totally understandable. Some players somehow avoid them along with other serious injuries.

Wentz was just criticized by a few for not coming back in the Wild Card game after suffering a concussion.

It's crazy anyone would criticize him, let alone the odd teammate. Yeah he might have appeared fine...some people are good at putting on a strong face. If that is news to you then you might wanna just stab yourself in the neck and move on to another place. Godspeed.

Exactly. In such a violent sport, one’s quality of life can severely damaged by staying on even a little too long. It’s terrible. I don’t believe Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, or Calvin Johnson had any regrets from ending a bit early

These retirements only make it more clear how criminal it is that the NCAA has a stranglehold on these players until they make it to the NFL.

Most of the pounding these guys took to get them to this stage was for free, and for the benefit of their multimillion dollar coaching staffs

Not to mention they don't even really start to get paid until after their rookie contract is up. And even then for a lot of guys the contracts aren't guaranteed.

It's so stark in contrast to seeing what MLB players get

The Chiefs have 5 or 6 guys who can break a long touchdown, ridiculous speed at RB and WR. Bend but don’t break will kill the Titans with that team. Baltimore doesn’t have playmakers at receiver and left Lamar to do everything. He either threw the ball, ran the ball, or got sacked on 83 of their 92 plays against Tennessee.

To be fair, it's an NFL issue not an NCAA issue. If they let players enter the draft younger, or had a separate developmental league, it would all bypass NCAA rules coffers.

Easier said than done. The infrastructure for a minor league system already exists at the college level. No one would watch a developmental league.

There has to be some way to meet halfway to pay players

Really hope Henry makes Frank Clark eat his words tonight. Seems like a very stupid thing to say for a number of reasons...

Can't wait to watch these games later.

I got lucky last week when I had a few bob on Chiefs when 14-0 down. I thought at 24-0 that was over.

I think they cover the 6.5 point spread tonight though.

Henry's yards are at 107.5.
I'm undecided on that however.

My Packers need to keep Rodgers on the pitch as long as possible. The defence looked knackered towards the end last week. Niners are too good though sadly.
