Running a country £164K a year, running around a football pitch £200k+ per week... it really is not a lot of money….
To earn 200k on a football field you would have to train for years and have a special talent.
To be prime minister you just have to have the right connections and be a bare face lying , morally corrupt sack of poop.
Like Boris and Lizzie, and Tess , and Dave. Not really a good list
Of massive talent.
Neither are there rivals in the Labour part in truth for different reasons if we are being brutally honest.

The thing is, we wheel out these fact checks and everyone chuckles or scoffs, and nothing meaningful changes. We need Starmer to stand up and say "this is wrong, we should be able to trust what politicians say, both during campaigns and when in office, and we will introduce xyz to ensure there are real consequences when that trust is broken."

We seem to have forgotten that it's him being a lying piece of [Poor language removed] that got him sacked in the first place and stridently push for a clean up.
It is the reason why so many people are so apathetic about politics, everyone knows they are lying, the politicians know we know they are lying, but we all carry on with this charade as people just kind of accept this fake reality.

A Russian historian called it hyper-normalization about life in the Soviet Union

Speaking to an SNP MP today and he shrugged and said "It's Westminster innit". It's not good enough and it's no surprise that faith in democracy is at historic lows.

Hyper-normalisation is slightly post-Soviet. It's the creation of an Avant-Gard artist who moved into Yeltsin and then Putin's circle.

Apologies for any typos, been on the ale and my eyes and fingers are in different dimensions.

Give me a minute, I might even conjure up a name.

Surkov, Vladislav Surkov. I think.

sounds like some top class ale does that! how are you aware of post soviet avant gard artisanship and its ingratiation into the heart of the kremlin?

I am Vladislav Surkov and I crave recognition.
calling that out as not very avant gard right there!
anyone see widders on 5 news? asked if she'd have johnson back and her instant reply was "good god no!"
who's in the background readying to take over from truss? may was stitched up before she even started and it seems the long knives were out for sunak if he had made it.
the energy plan thats being cooked up currently, murmurs are about 18 months of support, handy timing for the GE, and imagine its some 10 year mortgage plan for repayment, 6k yearly average bill projection + the repayment for this small run, thats over 500 notes a month before youve even farted. watch what happens with water next...

I think the Tories know they're probably buggered at the next election and plan to leave their successors with absolutely crippling debt so they won't be able to achieve anything much. In the meantime, they can say "Look, we bailed you out during Covid and the energy crisis".

yes, thats the fear, a scorched earth policy to double down on the harm so the fallout is unfixable. they'll hammer the bbc, they'll strangle whats left of the nhs, business as usual for water and power, strongly suspect something nasty in the post for Sturgeons snp. A disaster, in fact an orchestra of disasters.
