Guys, you didn’t want him, he will shortly be gone and is enjoying a well earned break. Truss will soon be in charge and the same waste of space Starmer will still be in role…..

You mean the Starmer who rightly wants an immediate price cap on the greedy power companies to help the British people ? You are absolutely clueless just like your past it party and Truss will be another easy pawn for the super rich to direct. Starmer led your idiots by the nose to introduce an energy tax on the energy companies, now perhaps he can lead them again to introduce an energy cap. Just imagine what he can do when Labour are in power.

To be fair, the likes of Bulb aren't the problem here. The existing price cap is basically the wholesale price + a small margin for Bulb et al to charge customers. The problem is that the wholesale price has skyrocketed, due in part to supply contracting at the same time as demand rising.

It seems to be all of the cost has been put on the customer, which is not fair also demand increasing ? We are in the height of Summer, then what's it going to be like in the Winter ? Lots of reports are saying there will be deaths in the poorer section of society, profit over lives Bruce. Don't tell me this government can not do more during this crisis, the lame duck is on holiday in Greece, while beforehand supposedly having a crisis meeting with all the energy companies, which happened to fall in the middle of another one of his endless parties ! So what happened in the meeeting...nothing. All's the Tory party are interested in is a leadership contest, which seems to have gone on forever, while the Country is stumbling from one crisis to another. Finally there is no way on Earth these energy companies are not making profits, this should be looked into by a separate body not Ofgem who are in their pocket, or this government who are terrified to upset their big business buddies, wonder how many Tory MP'S are paid consultants/ directors of if even some of these companies are contributors to the tories themselves, nothing would surprise me with this corrupt lot.

It's not really the case. You might recall last autumn firms were at considerable risk of going bust all over the shop because the wholesale price had risen sharply but the price cap hadn't. There were around 20 firms at risk last year. They're literally banned from profiteering by the regulatory price cap.

That's not to say that something can't be done to help people, but pinning the blame on the people who provide you with your electricity is not right. Just to reiterate here, there is a big difference between Shell, BP, Exxon et al and others who pump oil and gas from the ground and those who are interacting with the customer. The former can charge whatever OPEC decides. The latter can only charge what the regulator decides.

Worst PM in political history
Screwed you worse than Eden? Strong claim, that. Bit like when people try to argue Trump was worse than Harding or Buchanan. We need a little time to evaluate.

Bog standard? Check. Loathsome human being? Check. Disgraced the office? Check. Worst PM of most of our lifetimes? Check. Worst ever? Let's give that one a decade or so before rendering judgment.
