RabiesHow are we defining patriot here, Pete?
If he gets through the night of the long knives he can do a purge of the party…..
I might rewatch the committee from yesterday. TV gold, that.
He comes across as a guy in the midst of a psychotic episode.
Brexit is like an unaware out dated comedian trying patter out the lines that once made many laugh. It's possible to love the idea of being in the EU, and be patriotic, you know.
It's a bit daft to suggest that remainers 'want to do the country down' when all brexit has delivered is disruption and self inflicted damage.
This debate can be settled with simple facts. Manufacturing on it's arse. Workforce issues. Food rotting in fields. Meanwhile, we're not even checking the inbound trade as it'll cause that much damage. No doubt that is the fault of the e.u. though?
The people wanting to do the country down were the disaster capitalists pushing for brexit to happen, to the average member of society there is no benefit. Even the sovereignty argument is a pack of lies, we have less rights, less freedom and less leverage as a nation.
Brexit was made into an argument of faith over facts, thus has created some very entrenched views. I respect that you are very committed on that front and doubt people could sway you...
One question though, what would it take for you to come to the conclusion that brexit was a mistake?
I thought he started out bluffing his way quite comfortably through grain and road pricing, he knew that wasn't the main event and so did the panel. Once it got onto ethics and he started thrashing around like a lunatic, back tracking every 5 seconds and throwing out one liners every time he got called up on a lie was when it got Shakespearean.
Denying the content of a letter that was made public was a bold move, also.
The guy is a routine liar mate, and looks like he now doesnt know which lies to say. Its not helped by the fact his team have deserted him, so he wont be getting briefed properly.
Reminds me of something I was told years ago. Telling the truth is easy as you have to remember 1 thing- the truth. Telling lies is hard, as you have to remember multiple things and how it interacts on each occasion.
He just looks like a fella now, who the lies are too much to cover for. Hes visibly flailing, and even the majority of his own supporters can see it.
I think he's one of those people who just think reality bends to how he thinks it should be. In his head he isn't lying.
It's how a sociopath thinks mate.
The thing is, hes not very good at it. The people who are good at the above tend to pre plan very well, and join the dots. He doesnt and just looks what he is-a "compulsive liar" ( I hate that phrase as its mis used but in the meaning its understood in contemporary society).
This contradiction, that he cant just do what he wants, seems to be sending him into an episode. Hes actually quite unwell, and probably needs to be taken out of.the spotlight. If he wasnt such a monumental cretin, I'd have sympathy.
