Seven people on the flight to Rwanda. Honestly this govt are totally crackers.

I think they've played a blinder from their perspective - gives them an excuse (and popular opinion) to leave the ECHR, leaving them free to bring in whatever watered down "human rights bill" they want with no interference. They knew this would never happen and that this would be the outcome.

Those cheering for the removal of human rights will believe it only affects refugees...

120 million sweetener to Rwanda just to agree with the deal. This does not including housing costs or general costs like food and clothes plus repatriation to a new country.
Chuck in another £250 grand to charter a plane to get there.
They showed the accommodation they are getting and they looked like a 1960s Butlins holiday camp but without the red coats.
As hair brained schemes go this is up there with the best of them.
The British paid good money to holiday at these establishments. Not sent for free.
I jest by the way, it is a reminder of how far our expectations of comfort/pleasure have elevated.

And why it'll be a red line for even more Conservatives. Perhaps even some on the front bench believe it or not.

This is where the Tory Party could very well finish itself off. Sooner or later you'll always come unstuck if you push too far. :)

They should bloomin well send the plane anyway, that will show the lefties!
Can't go against EHCR, what with Good Friday Agreement.

The funny thing is by leaving the EU we also took ourselves out of the Dublin agreement, which allowed us to send these people back to EU country they came from.

It's a case of be careful what you wish for Brexit. It's a fine old mess Boris and chums have got themselves in. :)

Every passing week, this disgusting, serial lying and narcissistic prick and his cabal fall into scandal and humiliation with apparent ease.

Has there ever actually been a worst government in U.K. history than this?

There’s another implosion imminent for them this week, guaranteed.

They’re not illegal immigrants when they make their crossings .. it’s perfectly legal but extremely dangerous and desperate as you already know.
Horrible stuff. Imagine being put on a flight, taken off, held in detention with no idea what will happen next. Absolutely no control over your future. It’s disgusting what’s happening here. Shameful.

Typical over the top no nothing left wing view, lots of moaning no answers or even suggestions…..

Just for the record - claiming asylum, regardless of how you arrive in a country is not illegal.

No matter how many times people say "if you arrive on a boat you're illegal" it isn't true.

And neither do you have to stay in the first country you arrive in.

Some very distasteful stuff in these pages from people suggesting that Ukrainians are deserving of refuge because they are legal but those from Afghanistan/Iran/Syria are not because they are arriving by boat. It's not the case, the difference is purely how much support we're willing to offer Ukrainians to come here. I wonder what the difference is?

And for the argument of "how do you stop illegal immigration, Labour have got nothing"

The counter argument is that the current Tory policy is that they want to deport refugees and asylum seekers already here because those people arrived here on boats operated by people who are criminals and prey on vulnerability exploiting those most in need.

I done a project during the pandemic for a company to create face masks, normally the business made steel lintels/structures day to day, somehow ended up with a face mask contract that needed to be implemented. They bought up new industrial units, didn’t have enough power on the estate to run the kit, then moved elsewhere in Kent and began production.

They were featured in the Independant about 9 months later, exposing the owners for being Tory donors.

This is only one of the numerous bent contracts I got to see during the pandemic, only dealt with one business that wasn’t a backhander.

Nobody can say the Tory government wasn’t crooked during that period, the cost of their backhanders now fall on the tax paying public.

When you see £4m worth of dodgy ppe being burnt you just know something ain't right.

I wish it was £4m, unfortunately it’s £4bn.

This is not counting the storage costs to date, there is a food factory in Ipswich which was requested to store around £40m of PPE, it’s only recently been removed to be disposed of. That’s one factory alone, there will be at least 60/70 sites in the UK charging excessive storage fees.
