Yes, it is possible to bring in an amnesty for past misdeeds, once therew is clear acceptance by the miscreant that s/he acted improperly. However, changing the actual rules and attempting to apply these to misdeeds already committed is outrageous.

If there have been breaches of rules in the past, the consequences should be consistent with the law/rules at the time of the breaches.

This is ultra vires if it purports to retrospectively write rules to deal with past breaches.

I’ve been saying that to my mates for a while now…over £8 for a gallon of diesel as opposed to saying £1.80 per litre, will shake the public and may well force the government to do something…from the first day of decimalisation to the change in measurements we have been royally ripped off, and it all snuck under the radar……

I don’t think so. Paid 2.12 eur a litre today. It’s not a problem exclusive to the U.K.

What is the benefit of this?

Has anyone been calling for a return to this as it must have completely passed me by.

Unless changing it would lead to confusion on people unfamiliar with the system and so they don't realise how much they are paying for goods.

Just another pathetic attempt to distract from their ineptitude and lies.
