He's a complete bozo, but fair play to him in this particular instance. He was unequivocal and one of the few world leaders pushing for meaningful sanctions from the start

Lets be honest, if the Ukrainians themselves hadn't been absolute heroes, our "response" would have been meaningless. Putin is thinking twice because of their defence, not our sanctions.

Well I think that's fairly obvious. But as far as what other countries were actually able to do, Johnson was calling for much tougher sanctions straight out the gate. I'm not saying it has suddenly vindicated his reign as Prime Minister, just that he finally said and did something that was worth a damn. I still think he's complete clown that needs to be removed at the earliest opportunity

Did he though? I recall the first sanctions being pathetic and far short of his rhetoric. They've also been disgraceful about accepting refugees.

Anyway, now that we can see Boris leading the anti Putin response and showing clear leadership on the international stage, calling all the big shots correctly while the likes of Germany, Italy et al flounder, maybe he can be forgiven for having a glass of wine and a piece of cheese. A bit of perspective needs to be considered……

That “clear leadership” includes not sanctioning 37 individuals or businesses that were sanctioned by the EU and the USA. Any idea why those weren’t included?
Germany and Italy picked out for your condemnation? Exactly the same as that horror Alison Pearson in the Telegraph. Come on @peteblue, must do better.

I observed the law, even when wanting to go to funerals for loved ones.

What a completely ridiculous statement that is, and frankly shows how little you think of people and what they went through.

Law breaking in a pandemic is about as low as you can get.
