Current Affairs The next Tory (strong and stable) leader is Boris Johnson

She can be both, but of course Johnson being an incompetent feckless wastrel who promises more than he ever delivers is something that predates her by many years.
Of course she can be, yet my question is how much influence has/does she have. If it's not a convenient campaign, it opens up many other worrying issues.

I've read suggestions that she's regularly perused through his red box and her friends, including an interior designer, freely roaming around Number 10.

Official Secrets Act and confidentiality and all that. Let's not be naive that your partner will always give some advice, but it's got to be within the boundaries.

You're correct about Johnson and his long standing incompetence, however I feel this is something that, if true, could be opening a Pandora's box.

Who actually leads the government? First, we had Cummings and now...

Indeed, but again his (to put it in its most positive light) blurring of professional and private lives is a characteristic of him. Anyone close to him who he feels is of use to him will be able to influence him in this way; indeed the current spat can only really be understood as underlings of a weak leader fighting to determine who influences him.

You do get the impression that he is just a puppet. Just goes where he is told to go.

It's just who is pulling the strings.
I remember a story about his Brexit strategy. No idea if it is true or not, but not letting that get in the way.
The story goes, he had no leaning either way towards Brexit. But he wrote 2 newspaper articles. 1 for Brexit and 1 against and asked those close to him which one was the better article. Brexit was the better article, so that was therefore his opinion going forward. Brexit it was.

Might be poppycock, might not be. But wouldn't be surprised if the truth is not that far away from it.
