I thought Boris gave Beer Starmer a good kicking today. Starmer was an idiot for saying that cakegate was the most important issue for the U.K. , thereby allowing Boris to mention the little matters of Brexit, Covid, the Economy, Ukraine etc and coming out with the ‘Lawyer not a Leader’ quip…….
Shut up Pete.

‘Amazing, did you hear him today? The way he served up that sumptuous slice of alliteration was genius. It triggered my Pavlovian approval response perfectly.’

Ding, ding, ding. Yum, yum, yum.

Whereas Johnson of course is a liar not a leader

What, like Mandela, Ghandi, Putin, Lincoln, Thatcher...

The Foreign office really want Boris out at the moment, irrelevant to what the head of the FO says, the people within the FO still are very bitter about the handling of Afghanistan.

My impression is they don’t want him there for the Ukraine talks. My friend still says gone by next week. Images have been handed over of the gatherings, the pressure mounts.

At least he mde sure those dogs got out. This is from the BBC, but also being reported elsewhere. From memory, I think Carrie Johnson was involved in this as well:

Boris Johnson authorised the evacuation of animals from Afghanistan during the fall of Kabul, according to emails leaked by a whistleblower.
The PM has previously dismissed as "nonsense" claims he intervened in the evacuation of the Nowzad charity, run by former Royal Marine Pen Farthing.
But an email from an official in minister Zac Goldsmith's office suggests he was personally involved.
It is one of a number of emails released by a select committee.
The August 2021 message to another official in the Foreign Office says: "Charity Nowzad, run by an ex-Royal Marine, has received a lot of publicity and the PM has just authorised their staff and animals to be evacuated."
When asked in December if he had prioritised animals over the Afghan people in the evacuation of Kabul, Mr Johnson said: "That is complete nonsense."

Starmer should be doing better at PMQ's given the hand he's got at the moment. When Johnson started talking about Russia he should've compared him to Neville Chamberlain, saying at least Chamberlain had the decency to resign when he'd lost all credibility. Johnson would've lost the plot.

Instead, he lets him get away with the same crap every single week. The vaccine rollout was more than 12 months ago and Brexit was almost two years ago, and his Brexit deal is an unmitigated disaster which unravels further every week at the moment.

FINISH HIM.

TBF Chamberlain didn’t resign when he lost all credibility, he had to be beaten and humiliated in the Commons first (as well as by reality) and even then the faction around him kept going for a long while afterwards.

Starmer does have a very difficult job, he’s got to take on in a debate a man who both invents things and tells demonstrable lies - just by taking part he (Starmer) is on a hiding to nothing.
