I’m going to work tomorrow with a picnic basket and a bottle of Bacardi
These make John Major’s government look almost morally upstanding and left leaning.

What a disgrace, he looks beaten too. Normally he waffles back with a fair bit of bluster and confidence but this time he looked meek.
TBF given what went before and since I think there is a good argument for saying that Major’s government was actually one of the most morally upstanding of the past fifty years (note: this is not a high standard).
The spivs (Aitken, Hamilton etc) all came in under Thatcher and even the sex scandals weren’t that crazy. We didn’t even know he was knocking off Edwina until years later, either.
If they’d not brought in uni fees, started the NHS internal market and botched rail privatisation like they did one could even say they were approaching competent.
It's all a front mate, trying to con people into believing he's being contrite.
If you neck your Bacardi and bugger off after 25 minutes you'll be fine.I’m going to work tomorrow with a picnic basket and a bottle of Bacardi
Ye wouldn't surprise meIt's all a front mate, trying to con people into believing he's being contrite.
Still can't believe he's going with the "I believe that that the events in question were within the guidance and were within the rules"
Indeed. He was smerking when asked the same question yesterday. It's all a front mate, trying to con people into believing he's being contrite.
Got done in ,good style there, looked a beaten man.
Can't see how he makes it back from that.
