Scary how low the bar has been set to be a leader of a country these days. In this country, a two party system (in all but name) facilitates this. With Proportional Representation, a vote for another party would not be wasted as it often is now. Yes, a hung parliament is likely but then the buggers might actually work together for our benefit. It is time for a huge shake up! Otherwise, go back to your constituencies and prepare for decades of Tory sleaze.

Still more democratic than a party gaining huge majorities with about 35-40% of the vote. In many areas, a large number of people have no voice or representation. PR is a no-brainer that only the 'big two' fear as they will lose out. Liberal Democrat, for example, representation is a joke compared to the percentage of the vote they get. (Might say they deserve it for their betrayal on education but still....)

Our system is nowhere near as democratic as PR. I don't expect turkeys to vote for Christmas though.
