Everything he does gets heavily criticised (rightly) and then he changes his tune to please the people. Its like he's performing a social experiment.
He should have been doing that routinely anyway. But the worst is feeding public health information during a global pandemic through Peston and Kussenberg instead of through the mainstrem news.
