Sir ian duncan smith, i mean there will be other murderers with a knighthood but he must be the most high profile, what a disgusting state of affairs
The draconian policies he pioneered have literally been the cause of many suicides.

Knighthood: awarded for "Exceptional achievement in any activity".

That right there tells you all you need to know about what's valued in this country.

As you are a disturbing sociopath its not easy for you to empathise with the anger others might feel as seeing people suffer, calling this establishment vermin might not be very seemly but it is absolutely understandable
No, it's not understandable. If they described this city as 'vermin' would that be understandable? It will never be understandable to refer to any person as vermin. These people are the product of our society, our community and our values. This government was elected, following the rules of that society by a majority of people. To describe such a thing as vermin or the people that serve in such positions as vermin is to surrender to anarchy and self-pity. Your feelings about politics are not important when a majority of people have decided the path the country has taken. Why has everyone and everything become so extreme?

Here we go again. Why do you search for the most extreme reason as the answer for something instead of the simplest and most obvious? One could simply say, for example, that this seems an obvious a reward for being Boris Johnson's campaign manager to be leader of the conservative party...

These days? As far as Im aware the words scum and vermin applied to Tories have been ever-present throughout my lifetime.
So during Question Time and election debates and so on, the Conservative candidates were referred to and introduced as 'vermin' were they, by the moderator, the audience or other candidates? That this is occurring in your very small personal circle should show you how extreme that circle is. When I said calling someone vermin says as much about you as it does about the people you are labelling, I was giving you the opportunity to prove me wrong. Actually being proved right is horrible. Since it now follows that you are incapable of treating others with respect because they have a blue rosette or think a particular way to solve a problem is different than yours (and your way of course is the only correct way), and that you can't possible hold a civilised discussion with someone because you can't look beyond the political party they identify with... So if your daughter married a conservative you would obviously disown her? Where does this end? It is the stuff of the mad house.

Mate, Labour wont ever win an election without at least some "scum and vermin" voters siding with them. Calling them all those names does far more harm then good to your cause.

The people who vote for them aren't scum and vermin; they're just the sheep voting for the slaughterhouse.

Even if they're sheep voting for the slaughterhouse you're never going to win them over by calling them that. However you want to put it, calling them names will never win them over. If you insist on telling people that they're irredeemably bad or thick as pig crap you shouldn't be surprised when they turn around and say that they'd rather vote for literally anyone else.

Of course. Voters require a semblance of respect at least from the politicians who seek to represent them. That's the sine qua non; the rest of political discourse follows on from that.

No, it's probably best to applaud them for sticking a bunch of neo-nazis in power for 5 years.

I could care less about how they feel about being called sheep. They've just aided and abetted the Tories to "Juss get Bregsit dun" and you want emolient words to sooth them in order to get them back in the fold.

Bollocks to them.

You should be able to state your displeasure about this decision without having to resort to such primitive language. What is it with using the most extreme terms possible to describe things that you don't agree with? It seems to be so common these days. It doesn't reflect well on us to make these accusations. There are many people that receive these honours that have very questionable credentials, and that's all you had to say. Calling someone vermin probably says as much about you as it does about the person you are labelling.
I would tend to agree with this point in general. We should all try to be a bit more respectful and understand that people can have different political beliefs without necessarily being bad people. And words like ‘vermin’ should really be kept out of political debate.

Having said that, and although I sill disagree with it, if there’s one politician who does deserve such vitriol, it is Iain Duncan Smith. Terrible human being. So I can understand it.

No, not the bought and paid for whore media - those terms have been in common usage for decades for most normal people.

You need to start caring if you ever want to see Labour win an election again.

How many defeats is it going to take before you start to question why people won't vote for Labour. Is it the message that you're delivering to the voters that's the problem or is it how you and some of you deliver it?

Why would they ever vote Labour when people like you keep saying that they're effectively Nazi enablers! I can't think of a quicker way of ensuring that they stay Tory voters then to keep attacking them like you are. You're your own worst enemy here.
