Current Affairs The Next PM is?

Given Johnson hasn't used the word resign, neither in context of being PM or even the leader of the Parliamentary Conservative Party, I'm half expecting him to put himself forward in this election for a new PCP leader and try to remain as PM as long as possible.

You may be right, but one thing you can credit him with, if credit is the right word, is he can smell the political picture around the Tory party.

Does no one below the level of minister get any blame ? What are the tens of thousands of civil servants and teachers doing, what are the GP’s doing , what are the police doing. It’s fine blaming the minister, but what about those who supposedly do this stuff on a daily basis….
12 years of Tory rule now. Name one thing that has changed for the better due to government policy (and I won’t except the ongoing shitshow that is Brexit) All I see is more rough sleepers in the cities, more debt and food bank dependency. Glad I don’t work in education or government health services as they seem even more pissed off.

There must come a point where you think you’ve been backing the wrong horse.

….I was 41 years a Civil Servant and it always stagnates under Conservative control.

There’s a key word here - SERVICE. National Health SERVICE; Police SERVICE; Fire SERVICE; Education SERVICE: Social SERVICES; all public SERVICES.

The more you put in, the more you get out. It’s simple. Shapps was asked this morning how he would pay for his policy of tax cuts & he said ‘smaller Government’. In other words further cuts to public services. The service offering under Thatcher was the worst.

Its Thatcherism, it’s small government. Services aren’t profit making, they will suffer. Don’t blame the teachers, civil servants and GPs.
