Long is unbelievable. Seen him for the U-18s deffo the best on the pitch when I seen him, one of the games Barkley was involved aswell

Given there ages I would like to see McAleny and Duffy given a chance. Garbutt is probably ready but is playing in our strongest position so may have to wait for an opportunity. Ledson I would like to see kept in the u21s so he can develop maybe giving him little tasters of the 1st team.

The rest will all be keen to impress in either the u21s or out on loan its just unfortunate they can't all make it as we would be laughing.

Mate of mine reckons for the next two years we have big chances of winning the Youth Cup, there's a lot of talent in the next two years of academy scholars.

As for those listed above, I expected to see more of Garbutt next season, as I get the feeling Martinez sees something in him and will give him more chances this season (referencing him in interviews a few time etc), whether he'll take them I'm not sure. Browning is the other I'd expect to see a lot more of in pre-season and maybe some of the early cup and Europa League games, as he had a pretty consistent presence on the bench by the end of the season. The injury to McAleney last season I think has really set him back, I'd expect him to go out on loan next season.

As for Ledson and Kenny, I think they'll spend most of next season in the U21s and shining for Everton in the Youth Cup, maybe a few cameo appearances for Ledson if he's really pushing on.

For the poll above though I went for Kenny, assuming Martinez is here for at least another 4-5 years, I think he has all the qualities Martinez looks for in a defender and his limitations aren't as big an issue for Bobby and the way he plays.

Garbutt and Browning. I know it's not exciting but I think that both of them will get plenty of game time next season, even if it is mostly in Europa/ Cup.

Got a good few coming through though which is really exciting. Ledson and Kenny look very good but I think they may take a little longer to break through - maybe loaned next season.

I know it's hard to tell, but how good is our younger crop? Anything close to the youngsters a German or Spanish team are bringing through, or just good in comparison to the dismal English teams?

The interesting thing is that the two that appear next off the rank (Browning and Garbutt) both play in positions where we aren't that short. I mean we've got four senior centre backs + Duffy who has a lot of pro experience now and Browning. At left back we obviously have Baines and Oviedo as well as Garbutt.

It will be interesting to see how Martinez manages the situation there. In the middle I'd say that Distin and Alcaraz are relatively short-term options for us now, whilst of course Jagielka is the wrong side of 30. With left back there's the prospect of Baines shifting into the midfield or maybe Oviedo playing as a winger.

Certainly will be an interesting year ahead.

What iv seen from all the responses is quite a wide spread opinion... Which can only be good, don't think we've had a situation like this with younger players before. We've had two waves

Hibbo Osman Jeffers

Vaughan anichebe Rodwell

This looks a lot more promising

He's also the only player capable of filling in CDM if we don't acquire the correct targets... We have plenty of cover at left back but not midfield.... Lahm is the best full back in Europe and covers midfield when needed
Pretty sure he's moved to defensive midfield permanently actually?
