I often wake up and see the part I've played in this and think there has to come a point where I grow up and choose to do something more constructive with my time.

Today I've made the conscious decision to learn what metaphors are.

This is a metaphor apparently, although I'm still trying to understand exactly what it is meant to signify Anybody any idea?

Maybe he's saying his hand is 'like his lady', but then that would be a simile and not a metaphor.
