RIP Chris Dreja. He was a founder of the Yardbirds, co-wrote lots of their songs, drew the picture for the Roger the Engineer album cover, and turned down Jimmy Page's offer to be in Led Zeppelin (originally the New Yardbirds) so he could start a career in photography instead. He did, however, take the photo that appeared on the back cover of Zeppelin's debut album.

Fare thee well, British art school renaissance guy.

Roger the Engineer, was a terrible album (bar under, over, sideways, down), great cover though. Had a good innings.

Always seemed a caricature of my own mum. Has died at the same age my mum did too. That's some character acting right there.
