any news on the away kit or did I miss it ?

Whilst that is true, it is a very short sighted view. If we don't increase the number of shirts that we sell generally then the best deals we will ever be able to get are going to be along the lines of the dreadful Kitbag (or whatever they're called now) / Umbro setup that we have now. It's a self-perpetuated problem. I would rather we took the entire commercial operation back in house to try to grow interest in the club rather than being one club in a portfolio of sporting brands held by some third party organisation, even if that means for a short period of time we don't make quite as much money. Kids identify with merchandise, all the little scallies around my way have been tearing around in their RS, Man U, Citeh and Chelsea shirts for weeks and you still can't get an Everton shirt. It is absurd that we hear stories every single year of people wanting to buy merchandise who can't, and, yes, many of them will ultimately buy the gear when it is finally released but some won't and that's a problem for us as a club. The only people who have lost money is Umbro.
Not us.
You really think these figures would change if we stuck 3 stripes on our kit?

They wouldnt.
People wouldnt buy an Everton kit cos it was Adidas.
Just like people dont buy United kits cos they are Adidas.
People get so caught up in this Umbro thing, its Umbro cos nobody else wanted to pay us more money than them.
And this is the reason why.

This years sales figures will make up the gap a lot: Our shirts have Archibald Leitch cross-strut designs to them.
You really think these figures would change if we stuck 3 stripes on our kit?

Oh I agree, our major issue has always been the lack of availability of the kits.
For a few years we constantly had the overseas fans complaining that they couldnt buy a kit anywhere, its without doubt our biggest failing.
I thought for sure with Target and Umbro striking a deal together that I would see an Everton kit for sale in Target. I thought wrong. Disappointing how little we utilize the markets that are actually worthwhile for our club and brand.Oh I agree, our major issue has always been the lack of availability of the kits.

It goes beyond the kits to me.
Our profile is the media is shocking. We barely get a mention in the newspapers.
We havent won a trophy in 24 years mate.
Why the hell would we be talk worthy?
With respect.
And yeah, the media fascination with United as a kid always baffled me, especially as we mostly dicked them in games, cup finals apart like.....
Agree with all of that. But let's not have facts get in the way of boosting our profile.
When the season starts, have a look at just how little we get covered in the newspapers - it's really poor.
It's what the world's been waiting for. A shirt engineered by a dead Scotsman. If that doesn't resonate with the world then the world doesn't make sense!
