I am conflicted with this appointment. But the way things have been the last few years, considering the long game if he steadies the ship for a couple of years it might be what we need. He has always been shrewd in the transfer market and it could give us a platform to push on further down the line. Forget what’s gone on in the past. We’ve got to think of the now and a magic wand isn’t gonna change this team into world beaters. It needs some realism and a steady hand to get out us out of this mess and push us on next season. Comparing him to Dyche is Apples and Pears. I think he’s Moyes is a more flexible manager and we’ve already got a defensive platform he will get more from the team in the top half of the pitch.

Moyes raised expectations at Everton, he didn’t lower them.
He implemented a Kenwright-imposed ceiling, sharpened knives, and took us all off to gunfights for good times.

Plucky Everton is his legacy. To be fair, that was not a bad legacy given the appalling lack of resources he endured under Blue Bill. But is that what we should be aspiring to as our finances improve dramatically?

He's a competent manager. But his appointment is precisely what Bill Kenwright would have done, and his return ensures the old culture that seeps through the walls of Goodison will now seep out of the stands of the brand new stadium.

Nothing has changed.
