Please , people of the Free World , sometime , this Domingo , take a moment to remember that this weekend is the 70th Anniversary of the Dunkirk Lift , or , the Miracle of Dunkirk .

The French view , aside - after all , if one cannot defend ONE'S own fukn Territory , one has a particularly LONG FUKN NECK in ****gin' others for failing to do the same .

THIS COUNTRY FOUGHT ALONE against Hitler's Military Monolith , for 2 FUKN YEARS , an' NONE OF THIS , NOR the subsequent , 55 years of ( General ) Peace , WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT the Dunkirk Evacuation .

FACT .

Moreover , it was a SUPREME example , of Joe Public rolling up his fukn sleeves , an sayin' ,
" Ee - Yar , lad . I'LL do THAT . "

Honest to God , THE GOLDEN GENERATION .

Anyway , Politics aside , THESE MEN WERE PROPER HEROES . RESPECT THEM AS SUCH .

Never has a retreat (essential to avoid a masacre) seen such heroism. And as you say, from the general public. It's true that you often see the best side of people when things are at their worst. It's these moments that help me maintain faith in the human race despite all the shoite

I don't have enough respect inside me to give them what they deserve, infinite respect.

My grandad fought at Dunkirk, and came home without his boots.

My grandad was left with very poor eyesight defending the beaches whilst the evacuation was going on, when a grenade exploded almost directly in front of him in the sand dunes.

He was lucky enough to be able to get on one of the last lot of boats to leave. The guy who helped him on the boat due to his eyes became a very good friend and they both went on to start and run a bakery in Essex after the war until they both passed away in the 80's. I believe the bakery is still going to this day.

I once read about a man who answered the call for all boats. He asked would it be dangerous and was answered " Yes". His reply was " Well , let's go then". He made six trips in his little boat, with his mate, making sure all the soldiers on board got a cup of tea and
a jam butty. On his sixth trip his boat was hit and sank. He got picked up by another boat and was brought back home. " Damn Jerries ! I've just painted that boat, too" . His mate said he treated the very dangerous trips like he was going for a ride along the Thames.

An' in the British , lid .

Xenophobia , aside .

Honest to God - as God , undoubtedly was with us , ON THIS ONE.

We stand on the shoulders of giants who brought us here, mate. Thanks for this. You couldn't make up a story like Dunkirk - it had to happen the way it did to exist in our memories.

Also - it is June 6th - 66 years now, since some other of those giants went into Europe to try to save them from themselves once more.

RIP to our heroes, and thanks to those few who are still with us.

I forgot today was the anniversay of D-Day. RIP to everyone that lost their lives fighting for freedom.
