All these threads will look hilarious if Jose pulls out a 2-1 at Anfield. Leaves Everton to pick up 4th AND laugh at all the Reds who have had a nosebleed from being so high in the title race. And to think they've been this way since Christmas. /shudders

Yawn. You're one of the most negative thinking folks on here, so I'll take it with a grain of salt.

It bores me really, and is why I leave this place for long stretches (ie last summer...ffs).

Your priorities are jacked up my friend. I want this club to do well...our club has control over exactly two results against that lot...and we got 1 point this year.

EDIT: They could win everything for all I care if it meant we were progressing to do the same.

If nothing else, the last week or so has been an eye opener, as prior to this I didn't think any Blue could even think those bolded words, nevermind type them and mean them. Under any circumstances. I mean, where does it end? At what exact point does Everton's performance stop being enough to make you care about Liverpool?

"Oh well, Liverpool won the league, but at least we finished 4th."

"Oh well, Liverpool signed Messi, but at least we signed that Azerbaijani kid on a free."

"Oh well, Liverpool won the Champions League, but at least Bill is looking for investment 24/7."

"Oh well, Liverpool won the treble, but at least we bought a few tractors for Finch Farm."

Facetious? Absolutely. But the point remains valid. As an Evertonian, the success of Everton should be unrelated to the success of Liverpool, and is not a counter-balance in any way, shape or form. They are two separate entities - happiness at Everton, then irritation at Liverpool.

How on earth you cannot care in the slightest about Liverpool winning everything as long as we're on their coat tails somewhere is, for me, something only a madman would think. It defies all logic as an Evertonian to me. I literally can't even begin to comprehend the thought process. At the very least, you should be mildly annoyed, if not downright devastated. Even if we finished 2nd in the league, it'd be disastrous. Yes, good season, but bloody hell the RS have just won the bloody thing - care FFS!

Loving this post, sums it up perfectly

I certainly am not saying I'd be happy about it...but I ain't losing a wink of sleep over something that we have very minimal control over as a club. We had our chances and took 1 point. If I'm arsed about anything it's giving away the late points at Anfield. Would I be more bothered if we were at the middle of the table? Yeah, probably, but that's not the case now. We have an opportunity to do something we've not done in a decade. I care far more about our improvement/success than theirs.

At the end of the day, I support THIS club mate.

EDIT: So in my original post I might have exaggerated a bit...sue me

Bang on. My worst season watching Everton was 86. Coming 2nd to them in both competitions, on the back of a European ban at their hands made me 'HULK' mad!

I will always want what is best for Everton. Top 3 ideally this year (1st next) with Chelsea winning their last 4 league fixtures.
I can enjoy the summer then.

@Tubey mate...I mighta had a bit of a mare on that initial post. It was an overreaction to that @mrb85 who gets on my tits with his negativity and his loathing of all things LFC being greater than our beloved Blues.

At the end of the day, I will not let them and whatever they happen to achieve this season put any sort of black cloud over what we've done. NOBODY...except the biggest sniffers woulda given us a realistic chance at CL this season (including myself)...it's in our hands...we're winning for fun...even if it's nervy as hell...that's the joy of it all! Caring so much about results at this point of the season to the point where you're anxious, gutted, angry, and overjoyed in an hour and a half.

Best Reality TV Series ever invented mate.

My three least favourite teams. Like being asked to choose between a giant douche, a turd sandwich and something even worse.

Anyone but the red plague in all honesty, but I'm not cheering for either one of those other showers of *****, either.

Where's the cheese on toast option?

Anyway, until it's mathematically impossible, EVERTON!

I love Everton more than I hate that lot.

I was born in 1991, so I am too young to remember any competition win.

Everton are doing the best (league wise) in my lifetime. It's boss.

Liverpool doing well is a right pain in the arse, but I'll get over it. Because Everton are doing boss. As people have mentioned, it's all relative.

watching back the highlights of yesterday before coming to work i will say one thing.

Counhinio's goal yesterday is a title winning goal if i ever saw one.

I'd like the results off this poll to.be made open
This.

Only fair to see who would want that outcome. We do have a serious Kopite troll problem. Maybe one of the current 14 who wish for them to win the league will reveal their identity themselves, though, and explain why, as Evertonians, they think this way?

I am a little shocked to see so many for them.

It's a master stroke by the OP, tbf. A trap that the Kopite imposters have fallen right into. 15 of them so far. That's a fair sized problem on one forum.
