Bang on. My worst season watching Everton was 86. Coming 2nd to them in both competitions, on the back of a European ban at their hands made me 'HULK' mad!

I will always want what is best for Everton. Top 3 ideally this year (1st next) with Chelsea winning their last 4 league fixtures.
I can enjoy the summer then.
Actually this season reminds me a bit of 86, and in fact would be very similar had we started a bit better. Both us and the RS had very strong ends to the season that year, in fact we only lost 1 game post December, while the RS won 13 of their last 14 to pip us.

The only possible team, other the Everton who are still mathematically in the title race, who an evertonian should want to win is Chelsea. It has the maximum popcorn effect on the Kopites. A Torres winner would be amazing just to see that idiot Hansen's face crumple as he is forced to analyse it. In fact, Saturday night MOTD was Fowler and Ince, last night Hansen and Hamman the BBC have given up hiding their bias. But if Liverpool lose to Chelsea see how many of them climb back under their rocks.

I'm sick of the continual 'go for third, go for fourth' encouragement from Kopite friends intended as a patronising pat on the head.

I was never arsed with United winning the league all those years, and truth be told I couldn't care if City or Chelsea won it either. Anyone except the Kopites. Anyone who thinks City or Chelsea winning it would be as bad as Liverpool winning it just don't get Everton.

17 of them.

I'd love to see their working out.

Come on lads, dont be shy: "I would like to see Liverpool win the league because...."

I love Everton more than I hate that lot.

I was born in 1991, so I am too young to remember any competition win.

Everton are doing the best (league wise) in my lifetime. It's boss.

Liverpool doing well is a right pain in the arse, but I'll get over it. Because Everton are doing boss. As people have mentioned, it's all relative.

I think not being at school age during the highs of the mid 80's only to see the rug pulled from under us, makes it harder for those under 30 to understand why no Evertonian in their right mind wants them to win.

Being called 'bitter' makes my blood boil. We have every right to hate them for the countless misdemeanours they have gotten away with over the years. From the NEC jibes straight after Heysel, Emlyn Hughes making a disgraceful remark to Everton fans who had turned up to applaud their European Cup win, I could fill the internet with reasons why. And it isn't just us. Fans acros the country dislike them more or equally as much as their rivals.

I have no love for Chelsea or Project City but they are not in the same bracket. They are just a sad reflection on the current state of football as a commercial venture.

If we beat city to win them the league, but we get 4th I couldn't give a rats arse.

Unless we draw villareal or something and get knocked out.

Some must just have done it to be 'funny' but the others....

It'd be nice to think someone who voted for Liverpool to win the league would come forward and just explain it.

Not too much to ask. If you make a choice you presumably have a reason for it.

I dont know if there's any way for the OP to go back and opt for a public viewing of the vote. The mods have been able to do this in the past IIRC.

I can't escape them even on the other side of the world. Sports news on the radio this morning in Brisbane talking about how everyone apart from City fans would be happy at them winning.

My choice is City - they may be up there due to a rich benefactor but they carry themselves better than Chelsea and everyone carries themselves better than the RS

Christ. Just seen this. Could understand 18 votes if the Q was "who do you THINK will win it" but, WANT to win it?

Going to boil my head in lemsip or something.

Glad to see you're not taking this poll on a football forum too seriously.
