Does Missouri have one of those wildly unbalanced 'continental interior' climates where Winter is cold enough to freeze the nads off a brass monkey and Summer is hotter than the fires of hell and can melt concrete?

YES. Although winters aren't TOO bad, it does get really cold in January...sometimes down to single digits farenheit or below.

That is ridiculous - by the way JD, many parts of the UK are getting a months worth of rain in a day 2mora, summer eh, if only you could lend us 10 or 15 degress or so

We've got an awesomely balanced climate, sub tropical and coastal. There's generally a couple of weeks in Summer (Feb-Mar) where the temps can get up into the 40's but coupled with near 100% humidity its a killer. Most of the rest of the year daytime temps range from low 20's to mid 30's.

Rain meh, our median annual rainfall is 1.3m. Last January we copped 200mm overnight. (BTW January is Summer)

I'm not 2 bothered bout the rain, i prefer winter to summer but would be nice to actually have a summer.

I love winter though, going to Goodison when it's freezin is why I live haha

I'd love to go Oz someday. Every Australian I have met has been awesome. Beautiful country too. I think Aussies and Americans have a lot in common actually.
