You know more about them than I do already, haha! I didn't think of that but you're probably right. If I could get with one of the major construction companies, such as Keir or Balfour Beatty then I wouldn't be bothered as there's a lot of opportunity to work abroad. I just don't like the idea of being tied down but I'm probably being unreasonable.
Got a mate who works for Balfour on the pylons and says they're the worst piece of **** company going. Absolutely hates them, but its great money so i guess it balances that out haha. You're doing surveying aren't you? Another mate of mine did a surveying grad scheme with Babcock and loves it.
hi guys.
I am sound tonight.Hmmm, that surprises me tbh. Thanks though. They're the first ever UK contractor to place in Europe's Top 10 contractors as of last year, too. Yeah apparently they do pay well, much of their staff are made up from staff they headhunted from Keir, apparently. They're relatively new I think.
I'm doing construction management, so I'd start off as an assistant site manager in all likelihood and try and work my way up.
Hello mate, how are you?

Fair one lad. I know a fair few construction companies in north wales as my dad has a scaffolding firm but nothing over in the wirral really.
I am sound tonight.
*sends virtual brow envelope*
Oh right. Good money in scaffolding isn't it? I tried to make a scaffold once (not one of the do-it-yourself tower ones) and it was badly shocking. I had to use it too, haha. I suppose you've probably done a bit of labouring before then?
Haha I'm sure places like Anwyl or Watkin Jones would have you. Yeah decent money in scaffolding but its ****ing hard, done a fair bit of labouring there every summer during uni. Those 21 foot poles take some mastering i tell you! (gay joke here)
Hahaha! Yeah you could cause some damage with those too! Scaffolders always seem to be the hardest looking people on site. No one ever messes with them. I was practically a hod carrier for the first two years of my apprenticeship. That toughens you up a fair bit!
Not heard of Anwyl but Watkin Jones just throw their buildings up apparently. My uni halls in first year were brand new and built by them and there were so many snagging problems with the building. Suppose you get that a lot with a building of it's size though.
