It's to do with the thyme leaves put in to the original pork pies, I think.

Ijjy, AF is spot on.

Anyone who's ever seen that episode of QI will know that a barleycorn is a third of an inch, and that each shoe size is one barleycorn.

I didnt ignore you AF. If you go back you'll see that I went to Google what a Barleycorn was.

1/3 of an inch. Thanks.

But, what I'm after is opinions on if I could get away with a size bigger than normal? Like just how noticeable is one size?
